Om mani padme hum means: gems in a lotus flower, consisting of different petals, which symbolize good fortune, peace, compassion and purification.

This is an iconic chanted mantra of Buddhism.

Chanting is a way to fill the mind with positive thoughts, so that there is no room for painful or harmful thoughts. Chanting can also be a way to develop the qualities chanted. A mantra is also a rhythmically repeated phrase, along with breathing. The sound creates vibrational energy that can purify or protect from negativity.
